Have you heard your child’s teachers talk about ‘PBL Strategies’, ‘LATIC’, or ‘Student Centered Learning’ – and your eyes glaze over while you smile politely? Here’s your chance to find out what they’re talking about, and how your children are learning in their classrooms.
November’s SOMS PTA Meeting will be held at TZHS Library on Tues, Nov 29th at 7:30 PM. Please join SOMS PTA and SOCSD Family Resource Center at a K-12 Parent Workshop on ‘Problem Based Learning’, ‘Learner Active Technology in the Classroom (LATIC)’ and ‘Student Centered Classrooms’.
This is an interactive meeting open to all families from Kindergarten through Grade 12 featuring presentations from District Superintendent Dr Robert Pritchard, Assistant Superintendent Dr Brian Culot, SOMS Principal Mrs Karen Tesik, and other academic leaders from our school community. You’ll also see examples of projects completed by our students, watch a short video of students engaged in the classroom, have the opportunity to ask questions, and participate in a science based challenge-activity in the Maker-Space.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn HOW your children are learning! Space is limited, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by Wed, 11/23/16. See the flyer for more details:
